Disabling a 3DCreator Dynamic Reference Frame

DRFs are associated with probe definitions for 3DCreator digitizers. In order to stop using a DRF when digitizing you must deselect the DRF option for the probe currently in use and for any other probe you intend to use.

When you turn off the use of a DRF with a probe, the coordinate system used reverts to the internal coordinate system of the 3DCreator camera array. Without the benefit of a DRF, the coordinate system floats with the camera if it is moved. Avoiding the use of a DRF may improve the accuracy of your measurements, but at the cost of losing the ability to freely move the camera in relation to the part being digitized.

To Disable a 3DCreator DRF

  1. View the probe currently in use with which the DRF is associated.

  2. Deselect Use DRF.
