Connecting Gage 2000a Digitizers
RevWorks is completely compatible with Gage 2000a articulated arm digitizers. Before connecting a Gage 2000a digitizer, the device must be properly secured for use. For specific instructions on how to properly mount your Gage device and attach probes, refer to your Gage 2000a hardware documentation.
Some larger Gage devices may have cables and connectors that are different than described in this procedure. Refer to your Gage 2000a manuals for explicit instructions on how to connect Gage 2000a devices to your computer.
Before connecting a Gage serial interface digitizer for the first time, please make sure that RevWorks has been properly installed.
First-Time Connection of Gage Serial Digitizers
Gage serial interface digitizers do not require any additional installation steps upon first use. Once you have installed RevWorks you can immediately connect and use your Gage serial digitizer.
To Connect a Gage 2000a Digitizer
Mount your Gage 2000a digitizer to the work surface or tripod.
Attach the desired probe tip.
Using the custom RS-232 serial cable that comes with the digitizer, connect one end to the connector marked "Serial Port" on the Gage's controller box.
Connect the other end of the cable to a serial communications port on the back of your computer.

Note: Make note of the communications port to which you connect your digitizer. You may need it when you configure the digitizer in RevWorks. |
Connect the power cable to the receptacle labeled "Power" on your Gage's power supply box.
Your Gage 2000a digitizer is now ready to configure.
