How to Use a Format String

 

  1. Click on the Format Strings icon . The Format Strings tab will appear.

  2. The following are software packages for which default Format Strings are included in MUS:
    AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, AutoStudio, BobCAD, CADKEY, Excel, Notepad, Mastercam, SURFCAM, Unigraphics, SolidEdge, TopSolid, and Word*.

  3. Select the Format you need by clicking on the name of the Windows application you are using in the Select Format window.

  4. Click OK to use the selected string.

  5. Click in the Windows target application to make it active.

  6. Select a tool or feature in your target application that utilizes XYZ data.

  7. Place the cursor in an area of the target application that accepts the XYZ data, such as the command line.

  8. Click the foot pedal, hand switch to digitize a point.
