How to Use a Custom Probe

How to Use a Custom Probe

The Custom Probe feature can be found by clicking on the Probe Options icon .

How this feature is applied depends on which version of the MicroScribe hardware you are using:

MicroScribe MX and i Probes

MicroScribe G2 and 3D Probes

It is important to note that some third party software applications use custom probes defined in MUS. Check your software manual to verify this feature.

Also, Revware cannot guarantee device accuracy for all custom probes that can be used with MicroScribe. While the accuracy with a custom probe will likely be close, it may not be the same as the accuracy attained when using the Default Probe for any of the devices mentioned below.

Technical Support for Nonstandard Probes
Although Revware encourages you to customize your MicroScribe to be the most productive for your specific workflow, please take precautions when using probes other than those outlined in this section. Prior to fabricating your own probe please contact Revware Technical Support (contactus@revware.net ) to get additional specifications, including the thread size required for probes.
