This feature provides an alternative interface for users to drive third-party software using the MicroScribe via a Grid of buttons or Mouse input.
The grid creates an area of input where the buttons on the hand switch (or foot pedal) cause the launch of macro-like keyboard events. These keyboard events are directed by the format string, and the output of the CADpad actions is limited to the program or file window associated with the selected (or user-configured) format string. Selecting a CADpad preset template from the drop-down list automatically selects the format string with the same name, if any.
The mouse emulation creates an area in which the stylus movement drives the mouse cursor, while the buttons on the hand switch or foot pedal behave as left and right mouse buttons; anything the mouse can do, the MicroScribe can emulate.
To view the options for this feature, click on the CADpad icon . The CADpad tab will appear:
Grid: This section applies to the grid version of CADpad. The check box enables or disables this CADpad area.
Presets: none... Selecting any of the presets from this drop-down list selects both the CADpad and the About Format Strings of the same name, if any.
Layout: This indicates the form of a grid (rows and columns) of the CADpad grid preset selected.
Align: Bring up the alignment dialog for the associated CADpad (Grid or Mouse). The indicator to the right of the button is green if an existing measurement of alignment is already present.
Definition: Bring up the definition of the selected CADpad Grid preset, allowing printing.
Mouse: This section applies to the mouse emulation. The check box enables or disables this CADpad area.
WARNING: When using both the Grid and Mouse features of CADpad simultaneously, be sure to set the alignments of the separate work areas (coordinate planes) for the two functions, to prevent errors from overlapping. In the case there is an overlap, the Grid takes precedence.
