Using the RevWorks Toolbar

The RevWorks toolbar automatically displays when you start SOLIDWORKS. Focus does not have to be on the RevWorks toolbar in order to digitize data. At any time, you can use the digitizer’s data collection buttons, foot pedal, or other auxiliary trigger to collect data.

RevWorks automatically adds geometry to the SOLIDWORKS sketch no matter which window currently has the focus. When the RevWorks toolbar has focus, you can additionally use the following keyboard commands:

Spacebar

Triggers data collection

Backspace

Deletes data points in reverse order from which they were collected

Enter

Calculates a feature from collected data

Esc

Cancels data collection for a feature

Several buttons on the RevWorks toolbar perform functions that have more than one method. The method that you select for a function remains active until you choose an alternate method. To select alternate methods for a function, right mouse-click on the button and choose the desired method from the pop-up menu. Upon selecting a method, the icon for the button changes to represent the selected method. This becomes the default method until the next time you right mouse-click on the button and select an alternate method.

The RevWorks toolbar opens automatically when you start SOLIDWORKS, indicating that RevWorks is ready for use. If you close the RevWorks toolbar, you automatically delete all datum information. Thus, you must re-datum your part before continuing to digitize your feature. At any time, you can hide (or minimize) the RevWorks toolbar, as any window, without affecting data collection.

To Use the RevWorks Toolbar

  1. Maximize the RevWorks toolbar, if applicable.

  2. Place your mouse pointer over a toolbar button.

  3. If the button performs a function with only one method, left mouse click.

RevWorks performs the function.

  1. If the button performs a function with more than one method, left mouse click to perform the current function in the current method, or right mouse-click to select an alternate method from a pop-up menu.

The icon on the button changes to reflect the function selected and RevWorks performs the function.
