Using Probes - Qualifying Probes

Qualifying Probes

In order to digitize an entire part, you may need to use multiple Probes. To preserve data alignment when you switch Probes while digitizing a part, Probe Manager may require you to "qualify" Probes before they can be used to collect data. This requirement does not apply to all digitizers. A smaller number of digitizers maintain pre-qualified Probes that can be accurately reattached allowing reuse without the need to re-qualify before each use. When switching among qualified Probes, Probe Manager accommodates differences among the Probes and maintains data alignment no matter which qualified Probe you select within the Probe Set.

Warning: For some devices, you must qualify a Reference Probe before you can qualify any other Probes in a Probe Set.
