Using Probe Sets - About Probe Sets
About Probe Sets
Probe Sets are groups of Probes that you frequently use in combination. When you create a Probe in a Probe Set, Probe Manager automatically establishes a relationship that supports Probe exchange. There is no limit on the number of Probes that you can add to a Probe Set, except the limitations that are imposed by available system resources.
For example, if your device supports indexable probe heads, you can create a set of Probe positions which you can freely interchange without compromising data alignment. Likewise, if your device uses interchangeable hard Probes, you can create a set of hard Probes from which you can freely select while digitizing.

Warning: When physically removing a Probe from the digitizing arm, re-qualification of the Probe may be necessary, depending on the requirements of the specific device. If you are removing a probe head from a CMM you must re-qualify the Reference Probe and may need to re-datum the part.
