Disabling Probe Compensation

 

You can choose whether or not to enable probe compensation. When you disable probe compensation, RevWorks treats your ball probe as a point probe and collects data as if a point probe is in use. The data collected is at the ball center.

To Disable Probe Compensation

  1. From the RevWorks toolbar, right mouse-click .

The options menu for the Probe Manager appears.

  1. From the options menu, select Compensation.

The check mark disappears next to Compensation, indicating that probe compensation is disabled.

    Note: RevWorks creates all subsequent features through the ball probe center.

    Warning: Probe compensation can create unexpected feature offsetting results if you start collecting data with the probe tip in contact with the part surface or fail to move the probe more than the Probe Approach Tolerance specified for the current digitizing device.
