Creating Perpendicular Planes

A perpendicular plane is a plane created perpendicular to a selected curve through a digitized point. You must pre-select an existing curve in order to digitize a perpendicular plane. Once the plane is created, the initially selected geometry remains selected so that you can easily create multiple planes that are perpendicular to the same curve.

To Create a Perpendicular Plane

  1. Select a curve to which you want to create a perpendicular plane.

  2. From the RevWorks toolbar, select ,
or from the RevWorks toolbar right click on any displayed Plane icon and choose Perpendicular,
    or select
Plane > Perpendicular from the RevWorks menu in SOLIDWORKS.

A prompt appears leading you through the data collection steps.

  1. Digitize a point at the location through which you want the parallel plane to pass.

RevWorks automatically creates a plane through the digitized point that is perpendicular to the selected curve.
