Starting FARO Serial Digitizers

 

FARO digitizers do not require any special setup before starting.

To Start a FARO Serial Interface Digitizer

  1. Make sure that the device is securely mounted to the working surface or apparatus and that it is properly connected.

    Note: See your FARO hardware documentation for specific instructions on how to properly mount your device and attach probes.

  1. Power on the FARO controller box.

The device beeps to confirm availability.

    Note: If you hear a continuous tone, one or more arm joints may have been rotated close to their maximum range. Try rotating the arm joints until the tone stops.

  1. From the RevWorks toolbar, select ,
    or select     Probe Manager from the RevWorks menu in SOLIDWORKS and choose the probe tip you plan to use.

  2. From the RevWorks toolbar or menu, select a feature to digitize (e.g.: line, circle, arc, etc.).

RevWorks automatically connects to your FARO digitizer.
