Setting the Primary Station Alignment

When one or more alignment items have been associated with a Primary Station you can select which one is to be used or select none to be used. Only Primary Stations can have associated alignment items. All alignment objects for the Primary Station are listed directly beneath the Primary Station in the alignment document tree. The currently active alignment item is identified by a selected radio button. If none of the radio buttons are selected or there are no alignment items listed below the Primary Station, the Station is not using an alignment object.

Datums and Origins may be added to the Primary Station for use as alignment objects. When Origins are selected for use, the digitizer’s internal coordinate system is used for the Leap Set and only the origin of the coordinate system is affected. When Datums are used a complete part coordinate system is defined.

To Set the Primary Station Alignment

  1. Access Alignment Manager

  2. Left click on the radio button for the alignment item you wish to be the current alignment for the Primary Station.

The radio button is checked and that alignment item becomes the current item for the Primary Station.

Note: If you left click on the radio button for the currently used alignment item the radio button toggles off and the Primary Station does not use any of the alignment items that may be present.

Note: You must measure the alignment item in order to activate the Primary Station and Leap Set.
