Measuring the Primary Station

 

You must measure the Primary Station if you have associated a Datum or Origin with it. The Primary Station sets the coordinate system that is used for the entire leap Set. Measuring the associated Datum or Origin sets a part coordinate system that is used for the entire leap Set. If a Datum or Origin is not active for the Primary Station, the device coordinate system is used and it is not necessary to measure before starting the digitizing process.

To Measure the Primary Station

  1. Access Alignment Manager

  2. Confirm that the Primary Station for the current Leap Set is selected as the current Station.

  3. Activate the Current Station, or
    right click on the
    currently selected alignment item associated with the Primary Station.

The alignment item options pop-up menu displays.

  1. Select Measure.

You are prompted through the process of measuring the selected alignment item.

  1. Complete the measurement process.

The Primary Station alignment is stored and the Station may be activated as needed.


    Note: If you selected to activate the Primary Station it is set to active mode upon successfully completing the measurement process. Otherwise you must choose to make the Primary Station active before you can use it.
