About Stations

Stations represent physical locations for digitizers around the part to be measured. One Station is designated the Primary Station. The Primary Station is where the digitizing process starts. From the Primary Station you set the single coordinate system to be used by all Stations.

When laying out Stations within a Leap Set, Stations are placed around the part so that you can access all aspects of the part with the fewest number of Stations to preserve the greatest measurement accuracy. Each time you leap from one station to another the measurement error increases.

Digitizing devices are moved between Stations by measuring a Reference that can be reached from both Stations. Care should be taken to set up common References that can be easily reached by the Stations to which they are linked.
