Using Origins - Measuring Origins - Measuring a Point Origin

Measuring a Point Origin

A Point Origin is defined by one distinct point location taken from the part to be digitized or the jig that holds it. The point defines a location that maps to the SOLIDWORKS model space origin.

You must measure a single point each time you measure or re-measure a Point Origin.

To Measure a Point Origin

  1. Access Alignment Manager

  2. Right click on the Three-Point Datum you wish to measure.

The Datum options pop-up menu displays.

  1. Select Measure.

RevWorks connects to the digitizer and starts streaming data in digitizer coordinates.

  1. Digitize the Origin to be mapped to the SOLIDWORKS origin.

RevWorks automatically calculates the translations necessary to translate the data collected in raw device coordinates so that the digitized point aligns with the SOLIDWORKS model space origin.
