Measuring Origins

Before an Origin can be used for the first time it must be measured. You must also re-measure Origins when the part of digitizer have been moved and generally any time that the integrity of the relationship between the part and digitizer is questionable, such as after shutting down and restarting your digitizing station. Origins provide a method for setting a specific origin within the device coordinate system. Origins are reproducible, but since they do not describe the complete transformational relationship between your part and digitizer, the complete model alignment cannot be reproduced with the use of an Origin alone.. The reproducibility of an Origin is dependent on the type of Origin employed, the accuracy of your digitizer and the reproducibility of the geometry used in creating the Origin.

RevWorks supports two classes of Origins, each having its own measurement characteristics. Please review the following topics to learn more about measuring the specific Origin types:

  1. Measuring a Point Origin
