About Using Alignment Manager

Alignment Manager is a tool for creating and managing part alignments. Creating and reusing part alignments is an important part of the digitizing process, especially if you wish to be able to revisit parts at later dates to collect more information and have that data align with previously collected data. Being able to re-establish a part alignment also protects you from losing work if, for example, your digitizer is inadvertently moved while digitizing a part or you need to move the part or digitizer to access areas that are not reachable from the current digitizer position. Alignment Manager makes it possible to create, store and reuse multiple part alignments.

Alignment Manager provides for the creation and maintenance of several types of alignments including Datums, Origins and Leap Sets. Alignment items are presented in a hierarchical tree within the left display pane of Alignment Manager. When any item in the tree is selected with the mouse pointer information about that item is displayed in the right hand pane.

There are many actions you can take to manage alignment items. All items in the Alignment Manager tree have an associated context menu. Right click on any tree item to display a list of actions appropriate for the associated item.
