About Alignment Manager Icons
The Alignment Manager utility provides several functions for creating and maintaining datums, origins, and Leap Sets. Alignment Manager organizes these elements within a hierarchical list. We refer to the type of graphical list in which alignments and leap sets display as a ‘tree’.
For easy identification, Alignment Manager displays specific icons that identify the current status of alignment objects in an expandable selection tree. At any time, you can place your pointer over an icon and click the left mouse button to display information regarding the item, or click the right mouse button to display a menu of actions that you can perform on the tree item.
When you select an alignment item from the tree, the alignment does not become active. Instead, information about the item displays in the right side of the panel. To learn how to activate alignments, refer to Setting the Active Alignment and Setting the Active Station
A list of Alignment Manager icons and their descriptions follow. The images presented represent how the icons appear when selected and not.

|
Reference Link A cluster icon indicating two spheres and a ‘short cut" arrow represents a link between a Station and a unique Reference. Reference Links are not unique. Multiple stations may be linked to any reachable Reference by a Reference Link. |
|
Primary Station A large circular icon with a cross hair and stripes represents a Primary Station. Every Leap Set has one Primary Station. The Primary Station is the location from which the coordinate system for the entire Leap Set is established. Only Primary Stations may have an associated Datum or Origin to define a part coordinate system. Digitizing starts from the primary station. A Primary Station must have at least one Reference Link and may have more to establish direct lines of transfer to Primary Stations. |
|
Standard Station A small circular icon with a cross hair represents a standard Station. A Leap Set may have any number of standard Stations. A standard Station must have at least one Reference Link and may have more to establish direct lines of transfer to other Stations. |
Radio buttons associated with alignment items indicate which are in use or are selected for use when part alignment is active. Black radio buttons are available for selection. Within a Leap Set, grey buttons indicate items that cannot be accessed from the current station or are not available because that Leap Set is not selected for use.
