About Probe Manager

RevWorks supports probe interchange for your digitizer with a utility called Probe Manager™. With Probe Manager you can:

  • Define Probes

  • Qualify probes

  • Create multiple sets of probes

  • Add, modify, and delete probes

  • Switch between multiple probes during a digitizing session

  • Automatically offset features to account for probe ball radius

In order to use Probe Manager, you must have a digitizing device that supports exchangeable probes. Probe Manager manages multiple probe configurations for your digitizer. With Probe Manager, you can define new probes and group them into working sets. You can freely change qualified probes during a single digitizing session while maintaining data alignment.

Using Probe Manager, you can modify probe sets and the definitions of probes to support the requirements of indexable probes and pre-qualified probes. Probe manager accommodates the unique characteristics of the various devices supported. For all devices, an initial default probe is defined. Within the limitations of your digitizer, Probe Manager supports the use of touch, hard (point or ball), and non-contact (laser) trigger probes.

Note: If you device does not support probe interchange, Probe Manager is not available and is not listed in the RevWorks menu and does not appear on the RevWorks toolbar.
