Creating Sphere Origins
A Sphere Origin is an Origin that is constructed by measuring a single sphere on the part or part jig. Origins only align a specific location, related to a part, to the origin in SOLIDWORKS model space. Origins do not create a fully aligned part coordinate system.
To Create a Sphere Origin

Follow the instructions for Creating a New Alignment Item, or
right click on an existing Origin item in the alignment document tree.
The Origin options pop-up menu displays.

Select New.
The Origin type pop-up menu appears.

Select Sphere.
A new Sphere Origin is added to the alignment document tree immediately below the selected Origin or at the bottom of the list of existing Origins if none were selected. Information about the Origin is displayed in the Alignment Manager right pane.

Note: Before the Origin can be used it must be measured. |
