Using Datums - Activating a Datum

Activating a Datum

To use a specific Datum for collecting data from a part in part coordinates it must first be activated. The current Datum is indicated by the associated radio button that is currently selected.

To Activate a Datum

  1. Access Alignment Manager

  2. Right click on the Datum you wish to make active.

The Datum options pop-up menu displays.

  1. Select Active from the list of options.

If the Datum has been previously measured it becomes active and the radio button changes to indicate that this is the current alignment item. If not measured, you are requested to measure the datum before continuing.

Warning: If you choose to not measure the Datum when requested, the action cancels and the previous current item remains the current item, but it is made inactive. If the item were previously active you must reactivate it in order to continue using it in data collection.
