Measuring Z-Axis Distances

RevWorks, along with your digitizer, provides a Z Distance function for measuring the z-axis distance between two points.

Warning: When using this function with a ball tipped probe compensation for the ball radius is not taken into account.

To Measure the Z-Axis Distance

  1. From the RevWorks toolbar, select ,
or select Measure > 2 Points Z > Distance from the RevWorks menu, in SOLIDWORKS.

A prompt appears leading you through the data collection steps.

  1. Digitize two points.

RevWorks places the derived z-axis measurement on the clipboard. You can easily copy it to a field in any SOLIDWORKS dialog box, or to any other place that accepts text input.

Note: The distance value placed on the clipboard is the distance between the two points along the z-axis in part coordinates.
