Creating Open Sketch Splines

RevWorks creates splines from a set of three or more digitized points. The points collected for splines are projected to the active sketch plane before the spline is calculated. Open sketch splines have a beginning and end points that are not coincident.

To Create an Open Sketch Spline

  1. From the RevWorks toolbar, select ,
or from the RevWorks toolbar right click on any displayed Spline or Curve icon and choose Sketch Spline > Open,
    or select
Spline > Sketch Spline > Open from the RevWorks menu in SOLIDWORKS.

RevWorks prompts you to begin digitizing points.

  1. Digitize a minimum of three points.

Note: RevWorks automatically creates the spline feature once you digitize the maximum number of points.

  1. If you collect more than three points, but less than the maximum number of points for a spline, select or another completion option to calculate the feature.

RevWorks generates a spline from the collected data and draws it on the active SOLIDWORKS sketch plane.
