Creating a 3D Point at the Center of a Sphere

RevWorks creates a sphere-derived point at the center of a digitized sphere. The calculated sphere is not added to the document.

To Create a Sketch Point at the Center of a Sphere

  1. From the RevWorks toolbar, select ,
or from the RevWorks toolbar right click on any displayed Point icon and choose Sketch Point > Sphere Center,
    or select
Point > Sketch Point > Sphere Center from the RevWorks menu in SOLIDWORKS.

  2. RevWorks prompts you to begin digitizing points on the sphere.

  3. Digitize a minimum of four points, or digitize more points to generate a greater precision sphere.

Note: RevWorks automatically calculates the sphere feature once you digitize the maximum number of points.

  1. If you collect more than four points, but less than the maximum number of points for a sphere, select or another completion option to calculate the feature.

RevWorks calculates a sphere from the collected point data and adds the sphere center point to the active 3D sketch. The point feature is the only item that RevWorks adds to the current 3D sketch.
