Collecting Data for Planes
Using SOLIDWORKS tools, you can only create planes relative to existing planes. Using RevWorks, you can digitize planes anywhere without having to reference an existing plane.
RevWorks creates planes from digitized point data that you collect. RevWorks uses the data that you collect for planes to create new planes relative to existing planes and planar part faces or freely positioned planes.
To Collect Data for a Plane
Open a part file, if applicable.
Select a SOLIDWORKS plane, sketch, or planar part surface that defines the plane to which you want to create a relative plane.
|
Note: If you do not select a plane, sketch, or planar part surface to receive data, RevWorks displays a message informing you to select one before continuing. |
From the RevWorks toolbar or menu in SOLIDWORKS, select the type of plane you want to create.
RevWorks prompts you to begin collecting data.
Pressing the spacebar on your keyboard or the primary button on your digitizer, digitize the minimum number of points required to create the plane.
RevWorks provides audio feedback for every point that you digitize. Points taken while digitizing planes in RevWorks are not displayed.

Note: You can customize sounds for many events, such as: collecting data, completing feature calculation, and deleting data. For more information, see Managing RevWorks Sounds. |
